Caitlin Mercado
Caitlin Mercado has deep-rooted ties to Vista, having lived here for nearly 30 years. Her curiosity and openness to diverse philosophies, coupled with a dedication to lifelong learning, are evident from her extensive training at a Zen Tea Center in Taiwan, where she immersed herself in education for several months.
Caitlin’s professional journey reflects her profound compassion for others, guiding her to roles where service and empathy are paramount. She has worked in the restaurant and hospitality industry for more than 17 years. She additionally has shared her expertise as a yoga instructor, teaching children in the Encinitas School District and leading classes for formerly incarcerated individuals, helping them find calm and peace.
Outside of her professional endeavors, Caitlin cherishes time with her dogs, Apple and Bowie, building her book collection, visiting Deer Park Monastery, and traveling, with recent adventures including Kyoto and the Japanese Alps.
Caitlin’s blend of local dedication, philosophical curiosity, and commitment to personal and community growth makes her an invaluable member of our board and a source of inspiration for us all.
